Riso Zine Costs
Just like making prints riso can be incredibly cost effective for producing zines, with the ability to produce hundreds of zines at the cost of pennies! There is still the inherent cost for setting up and making masters but this is largely mitigated as more is printed and so making each copy cheaper. Unlike producing prints, a lot more labour is incurred on our end as we have to spend time collating each print layout, cutting to size and then binding them together. All that is needed from you is a grayscale PDF copy of the publication in reading order separated into the different colour layer... Duplo Zine Costs
If you are looking for something a little more budget friendly we do offer a Duplo zine making service. Just like Risograph, the Duplo operates in the same way of an ink drum with a master passing over a sheet of paper and making the desired print – it also shares the same eco-friendly characteristics. However, unlike Risograph, the Duplo has a series of key differences in that it is limited to printing A4 sheets, the ink is water based and can only print in black. It is also worth noting that the Duplo has a set fine density dither pattern that gives the images an effect more like that of printing on a traditional photocopier. Overall this is a great way of producing lo-fi black and white zines at a very approachable price point.
